Nardwuar interviews Nas

Friday, August 28th, 2009

I will never get tired of watching Nardwuar interviews. Dude seriously is a revolutionary in his field, I can’t even fathom where he gets some of his information from. @ Rock the Bells in Canada.

The Daily Hit (Birthday Edition): Nas - Life’s A Bitch (feat. AZ)

Saturday, August 1st, 2009

I’d imagine if you’re visiting this site you already have this in your library, or at least I’d hope so, but it is one of my favorite cuts of all time and seeing as today is my 20th birthday, I felt it only appropriate…the sax that rides out at the end gets me every time. Produced by L.E.S. and samples “Yearning for Your Love” by The Gap Band and “Black Frost” by Grover Washington, Jr.

(Thanks to all my visitors for keeping BluntCruise growing. Spark a blunt for me today and be easy. 1)

“I woke up early on my born day, I’m twenty years of blessing // The essence of adolescence leaves my body now I’m fresh in // My physical frame is celebrated cuz I made it // One quarter through life some Godly like thing created // Got rhymes 365 days annual plus some // Load up the mic and bust one, cuss while I puffs from // my skull cuz it’s pain in my brain vein money maintain // Don’t go against the grain simple and plain…”

The Daily Hit: Nas - Untitled (Louis Farrakhan)

Monday, July 27th, 2009

Nas spittin some heartfelt raw ish combined with some dope production by stic.man of Dead Prez easily made this one of my favorite cuts off Untitled. The dialogue and eerie flutes on the intro sets the mood perfectly. (Side note: I was never too infatuated with chains, but the one in the pic above has to be one of the dopest pieces I’ve ever seen. Better pic here.)

“No revolutionary gets old, or so I’m told // You’re left full of bullet holes when you tell the people go free // Oh, it’s a matter of days before they try to take me // I heard gun shots rang, his bullet got my name // I aint see em take aim, I dreamt this day came // Cuz I stood in the face of damnation // Satan, spat at him, flat out disgraced him // He want my blood, why me? // Why not the fake ones who deserve death man? // Fuck it, I’ll take one // Can stop me but can’t stop a whole nation of millions who feel you deceived them // They believe in, reparation makes it even // So I’m deadly now because of one reason, they listenin // In Budapest, Japan, China, and Switzerland // We getting it in son…”

The Daily Hit: The Game, Nas & Styles P - Live To Die

Tuesday, July 14th, 2009

This is a mixed track that was on Sirius, I think on Shade 45, way back. Not actually recorded together, just uses verses from other songs. Chorus is The Game on “Like Father Like Son”, Nas’ verse is off “No Idea’s Original” and I’m not sure what track Styles verse is originally from. Radio rip, clean, but still good enough to bump.

“Lord forgive me for my sins, I know it’s last minute // Put the chronic in the air, a little hash in it // Spread my wings, If only I could fly // Why fight to live homie, If we livin to die…”

The Daily Hit: 50 Cent - Who U Rep With (feat. Nas & Bravehearts)

Friday, July 3rd, 2009

Yeah, that’s a mad young Fif…the resemblance between this and that kid who played him in the movie is uncanny. Anyhow, throw back shit from his first officially released album Guess Who’s Back?, before his beef with Nas.

“Peep how I use words to paint pictures // Peep how I got niggas with bodies askin me for ten cents to go hit ya // Look my name up in the law book, Curtis Jackson // Known for creatin action, by rapidly clappin // Nigga I stay strapped, so much I nickname gats // Got a tech I call Tina, a nine I name Nina // Two niggas went to see Allah afta they seen her…”

The Daily Hit: Nas - Still Dreaming (feat. Kanye West & Chrisette Michele)

Thursday, June 25th, 2009

Produced by Kanye, samples “The Interim” by Diana Ross and “Use Me” by Bill Withers.

“Want niggas to show you, how to come up with green // I scheme since I’m fourteen, what the fuck was your dream? // Rental cars, little broads, sayin you was seen // Wit little nigga, lil chain, you was doin ya thing // How high was I? You the thousandth guy // That came around thinkin we can see, eye to eye…”

The Daily Hit: Nas - Don’t Body Ya Self

Wednesday, June 17th, 2009

I had forgot about this joint for a while, but I rediscovered it while bumpin an old school playlist. Remember after “Piggy Bank” the 50 diss tracks had the internet goin nuts? I’d say Jada’s > This > Fat Joe’s (which was better than expected, but I can’t find it on youtube).

“Everybody get low niggas // Dedicated to the fuck Nas coalition // Touch my dough I’m lettin, 40 cals blow nigga // Not cals with four legs, but cals with more lead // That add up more dead, it’s on nigga // I’ma bury them // Niggas don’t want beef they vegetarian // Scared of pussy you climbed out a caesarian // I push ya grown ass back in your mothers womb // You need nine more months, your crews nine more punks…”

Whose world is this?

Tuesday, May 12th, 2009

So I’m jus checking my gmail while I’m killin time before the Celtics game and I read: “Nas and Pete Rock, Working On New Music”…this might be the best email I’ve got in a while lol. AllHipHop reports:

Hip-Hop lovers can rejoice: Nas and producer Pete Rock are working on music again.

[...]

Pete explained how things came to fruition. “I got a call from [Nas] one day. I was very excited when I saw that he called. I called him back and we conversed a bit, through the text, got him on the phone and we kicked it,” Pete Rock told AllHipHop.com. “I sent music to him. And I’ll just continue to send him music, you know? Whatever he likes, he’ll probably put to the side. But, I’m real excited about working with him.”

[AllHipHop]

Considering these two created arguably my favorite song of all time (and haven’t done shit together since), I’m mad hyped. Let’s just hope they release something sooner than later.

The Daily Hit: Scarface - In Between Us (feat. Nas & Tanya Herron)

Tuesday, April 28th, 2009

“Either stick em or blast pipes, it’s the fast life // I tried to give another nigga advice, shoot dice // Do plenty of shit cuz this life, how many you get? // How many niggas do you know get two // Besides a nigga who snitch to skip a life-bid, be one of ya crew // I don’t respect killers, I respect O.G. knowledge // Codes of the streets got new rules, but no guidance // Lessons, detrimental to a young disciple // Folks, take care of your brothers, niggas do as I do…”

The Daily Hit: Nas - N.Y. State of Mind Pt. II (Produced by DJ Premier)

Saturday, April 11th, 2009

“Broken glass in the hallway, bloodstained floors // Neighbors, look at every bag you bring through your doors // Lock the top lock, momma shoulda cuffed me to the radiator // Why not? It might’ve saved later from my block”

Nas - N.Y. State of Mind Pt. II (Produced by DJ Premier) (Rapidshare) (Sharebee)

The Daily Hit: Nas - Nazareth Savage

Wednesday, March 25th, 2009

Ok, if we can’t get a Nas x Premier album, can we get a Nas x Salaam Remi? Cuz I’d be just as happy…

“Layin lazy in the recliner, couple days // In my ashtray, smoke signals from the haze // I stick my finger through it, the ring of smoke broke // That symbolize weak guys, pop the strong link off // The infrastructure caves in, amazin // I aint have to read The Art of War to slay men”

Nas & Marsha Ambrosius - If I Ruled The World ‘09 (Smirnoff Signature Mix)

Wednesday, March 4th, 2009

Nas & Marsha Ambrosius - If I Ruled The World ‘09 (Smirnoff Signature Mix) (Rapidshare) (Sharebee)

“BIG’s dream came correct // tryna push 700’s, they made them yes…”

All these Smirnoff Signature Mix joints I’ve heard thus far have been dope, and this is no exception. Good call on whoever’s idea it was to put Marsha on the track.
